Our ninth release from Truth and Consequence continues our ongoing collaboration with Amber Lane Distillery, one of Australia’s most exciting, multi award winning whisky producers.

The Back Story

Our first Amber Lane bottling, released in November 2024, was matured for 4 years and 3 months in a first-fill Heaven Hill bourbon barrel, delivering a bold and expressive Australian single malt. Rather than bottle the entire barrel, we made a deliberate decision to only bottle 50% of the contents, with the other half of the spirit already transferred into a Pineau des Charentes ‘French oak’ 350 cask from the original bourbon barrel 6 months prior to bottling the bourbon barrel, for an extended 20-month finish.
That decision delivered a whisky that must be experienced to truly appreciate, transforming a stunning bourbon barrel expression into a release infused with the rich, indulgent flavours of a Pineau Des Charentes cask.

Pineau des Charentes is one of France’s hidden gems! A lush, fortified wine from the Charentes region, in the very heartland of Cognac. It’s made by blending fresh grape must with young Cognac eau-de-vie, a process that halts fermentation and locks in natural sweetness, before gently ageing the liquid in French oak.
