Raw & Untamed at 64.26% ABV
Behold The Glenrothes at a commanding 64.26% ABV. This extraordinary 12-year-old spent its entire life in a refill Pedro Ximénez hogshead, and we’re absolutely thrilled to share it with you all.
Our Black Sheep Selection
After sampling a drove of Glenrothes casks, Hogshead No: 11323 stood out as the black sheep. Moreover, the whisky ticked all our parameters to proudly fly the Truth and Consequence banner with liquid confidence.
What We Look For
We look for that moment when a whisky stops you mid-conversation. Not because it’s flat or overcooked, but because it feels inevitable. Like it was always meant to exist in exactly this form.
The Perfect Balance
We’re drawn to casks that have found their natural conclusion or have the potential to balance out the liquid for perfect synergy. As a result, this Glenrothes changes the game when compared to mainstream offerings.
Our Production Philosophy
Natural Bottling Process
Once again, we stand boldly behind our uncompromising bottling approach, to deliver yet another formidable release. Specifically, we use only a simple 25-micron filter to catch any pieces of char or sediment from entering the bottle. That’s where we draw the line!
Cask-to-Bottle Integrity
Experience Glenrothes reimagined, Truth and Consequence style. bottled in her most natural form, straight from the cask.
Nose: Cherry cola fizzes alongside buttery toffee fudge, while honeyed Medjool dates mingle with sun-kissed summer berries and warming oak.
Palate: Satisfyingly chewy with brown sugar crystals adding to the PX sweetness. Then bright orange oil cuts through, joined by jammy plum compote that deepens with every sip.
Finish: Rich warmth spreads as dark chocolate lingers on to a drying, Winter spice tail. The perfect ‘cool weather’ whisky around a crackling fire.
Understanding the Pedro Ximénez Difference
Pedro Ximénez sherry casks create uniquely rich whiskies. Previously, these Spanish oak vessels held intensely sweet, fortified wine. As a result, the transformation changes standard Glenrothes into something extraordinary.

Don’t waste your money buying an Official Bottling of Glenrothes – this is the real deal, Glenrothes in its purest form without filtration and colouring, simply a great drop

I really value a quality, uncompromising high proof IB of younger Glenrothes single malts. This T&C release has that distinct PX sherry sweetness with the hallmark distillery character, the very DNA of Glenrothes, coming through with that orange oil character and dark fruits shining through. It’s rich, dark, spicy, sweet, and vibrant. At 64% ABV, it takes a drop or two of water well…. but not too much ! Enjoy it slowly and let the flavours develop.

I can’t give fancy tasting notes like others but what I can do is tell you I love this. Halfway thru my bottle and thinking I need another just in case they sell out. My friend sampled it and she immediately bought her own bottle. Its a PX cask for sure but also has a slight Olorosso mustiness. Spicy, citrus ,slightly farmy. choc licorice, marmalade. Hahaha maybe I can give fancy tasting notes. Drinks great at 64% but I knock it down to around 52%, superb
